The Athlete Academy (TAA) is Wicomico Counties leader in Sports Performance and Strength & Conditioning. Our Nationally accredited program offers local athletes the tools to be successful at all levels of sports. TAA offers an innovative, and scientifically backed, approach to training.
Unlike most facilities, athletes at TAA are coached from the moment they step through our doors up until the time that they leave. Our program is centered on consistent coaching and continued athlete feedback.
Each group is led by our Nationally Certified Coaches and focuses on proper movement techniques, injury reduction, speed & agility techniques, foot speed, quick-step explosiveness, proper strength training techniques, and proper energy system conditioning.
Each program is season long (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall), of which progressively becomes more challenging as athletes learn the basic fundamental techniques. Our world class coaching staff ensures proper progressions and regressions as each athlete needs something a bit different.

Athletes can expect to improve on the following:

Mini-Junior Training Program
Our Mini-Junior Program is for athletes 1st – 4th Grade who are looking to improve on key cognitive and locomotor skills to be successful in sports. This program is a FUN Gamed-based training program that introduces and teaches all essential athletic movement patterns for a fast and healthy athlete.
Junior Athletic Performance Training
Our 5th – 7th Grade groups are designed for young athletes that are wanting to take their sports performance to the next level. Athletes in this group will be exposed to a variety of athletic movements and techniques, all of which will improve on the athletes speed, strength, conditioning and coordination. Our emphasis in this group is to establish the foundation for the key functional movements patterns that athletes will need in the next level of play.
High School Large Group Sports Performance Training
Our High School Large Group is designed for athletes from 8th – 12th grade. This group is designed for athletes that want to either compete at the next level, or to get ahead of the competition at the High School level. We aim to improve on athlete strength, speed, conditioning, and injury reduction. This program is 90 minutes in length and incorporates all athletic elements to be successful in all sports.
ELITE – High School Small-Group Sports Performance Training
Very similar to our Large Group, we also offer a Small-Group setting for athletes who are looking to take their skills to the ELITE level. This group is designed for athletes who want a more personal experience and a personalized program. Within this group, we aim to improve on the athlete’s sport-specific strength, speed, conditioning, and injury reduction. This program is 90 minutes in length and incorporates all athletic elements to be successful in all sports.
This program is great for:
- Athletes that are in the rehabilitation process of a previous injury but may need additional training prior to returning to play to reduce the risk of re-injury
- Athletes who want a personalized approach towards injury prevention and sport performance improvement via a small-group setting
- Athletes who are willing to go above and beyond, ad-hear to all training expectations and commit 100% to becoming better in these 12-weeks.
PREMIUM- Elite High School Sports Performance
Our PREMIUM program is offered for both High School Large Group and Small Group Training. Our PREMIUM program is the most elite version of our programs. This program enables athletes to attend UNLIMITED Speed & Agility Group Training, Large Group and or Small Group Training 3x a week, AND 6 Personal 1-on-1 Training Sessions. This group is for the athletes that are serious about their sport, and those athletes who want to take their current level of play to the highest level possible.
Return-to-Play Personal Training
Over 60% of athletes that experience an injury that results in 6months or greater recover time reinjure that limb or have another injury that can be tracked back to the initial injury. This is partially due to the reason that when the athlete is “cleared” they believe they are able to go full throttle back into their sport, but that’s far from the case! There is a time between surgery, therapy and actual play, and this is the reconditioning phase for return to play.
Our Return to play protocol program ensures that athletes are ready and able to play at the highest level with the least likely chances of reinjury or new injuries to occur.
College Sports Performance
Our Summer Collegiate Sports Performance groups are designed for current or rising collegiate athletes looking to prepare for their upcoming school year. This program utilizes many advanced sports performance techniques to ensure that they are at the top of their game. This program is essential for all collegiate athletes looking for a great upcoming season.
On-Site and Off-Site Speed & Agility
Our on-site and off-site speed & agility training has been utilized pre-seaon, during-season, and post-season to develop total team speed, agility and reduced changes of injury.
